Lesson 14: Lower Row Master Review
The Full Bottom Row Challenge
Mastering the Lower Frontier
Welcome to Lesson 14 at TypingScore.org. You have learned the left side (ZXCV), the right side (M,./), and the stretches (B and N). Now, we combine them all into a Master Review.
The "Piano Scale" of Typing
This lesson is challenging because it requires you to switch between the left and right hand curling motions instantly. Think of it like playing a scale on a piano. You must maintain your rhythm as you sweep from Z to / and back again.
Synchronizing Your Hands
When typing across the bottom row, the most common error is the "cross-over." This happens when you use your right hand to hit B or your left hand to hit N. Resist this urge! Use the strict finger assignments:
- Left Hand Zone: Z, X, C, V, B
- Right Hand Zone: N, M, Comma, Period, Slash
Posture Check
Are your elbows drifting outward? This often happens when reaching for the bottom row. Keep your elbows comfortably by your sides. This keeps your hands straight and reduces strain on your wrists.
Focus on accuracy first. If you type the wrong letter, stop, look at the screen (not the keyboard), and correct your finger position.
